Disability Income Insurance

How long could you afford to live without a paycheck?

Did you know; 1 in 4 of today’s 20-year-olds will become disabled before retiring.1

Plan for the unexpected, you and your loved ones will be glad you did. For example here’s a real life story about how a disability policy saved this family:

There are four basic types of disability coverage:

Individual: Replaces a percentage of your income if you’re too sick or injured to work. Can supplement long-term disability coverage that you may have through your employer. Individual disability insurance can also cover retirement contributions and student loan payments.

Small Business Protection: As a small business owner, different types of disability insurance can help protect your business if you can’t work as a result of an injury or illness. SMP provides several options to help your business continue meeting its daily expenses including employees’ salaries, funding to buy out a partner, and continue payment of business loans.

Basic disability offered by employer: Repalces baseline income if you’re too ill or injuried to work. It also provides a good foundation for income protection; typically safeguards from 40% - 60% of your base salary after taxes.

Supplemental individual disability income insurance:  Extra coverage that your employer can offer on top of the base long-term disability insurance they may already offer you. This can help you protect more of your base salary as well as different types of incomes like bonuses and incentive compensation. This policy stays with you when switching careers.

You can’t work. Fortunately, your coverage will.

Are you covered for life's rainy days?
